He (Late Mr. Govindas Mukandas) initiated his knowledge on the basis of max baur and John Sinkansas in the field of gemology in 1960”s.continutation , a jeweler became gemologist, later gem miner , the family got infused with the gemology in their veins. Later Satish shah his son became the first working GG from GIA in 1978 , he headed the Gem testing lab at Delhi and founded the Indian gemological Institute , hence opening a new chapter in Indian Gemology . From 1982 to 1995 he trained dozens of interested gemologists free knowledge in this field , initiating modernization he formed the National institute of gemology which started formal gemological training and later under the banner of Deccan institute of gem & Jewellery p Ltd a set up of the most modern technology and a bank of experience and knowledge Deccan Institute founders have given more than 600 gemologists to the community.
